This site is dedicated to the history and preservation of both old and new methods of low definition mechanically-scanned television, especially early British mechanical television and the work of John Logie Baird.

I chose the name "Television Machine" because the term machine evokes thoughts of a device filled with wheels and cogs, levers and pulleys, which are the heart of mechanically scanned television.
